Tusk Embedded Technologies Expands Rugged Industrial System Lineup With Fanless 21” Widescreen Panel PC From MPL AG.

Surrey, BC, Canada – April 7, 2014  Tusk Embedded Technologies Inc., a provider of rugged embedded computer hardware, today announced the addition of the PANEL 21 from MPL AG to its line of rugged panel pcs.  The PANEL 21 is an extension of the MPL Panel PC family of compact, easy to integrate, and multifunctional All-in-One solutions. The 21” LCD display comes with LED backlight, IP65 front protection, and can be equipped with Intel® CPU boards up to 3^rd generation Core™ i7.

The 21” LCD and LED backlight on the PANEL 21 delivers 400 nits and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The resolution is 1900×1080 and the angle of view in all four directions is 80°. The PANEL 21 can be equipped with different touch screen technologies and also different LCD solutions to allow for different operating temperature environments.

The PANEL 21 is integrated with an MPL PIP embedded board computer available in various low power, long-term available Intel CPU versions up to Core i7 (PIP 30 Family). The PIP boards include standard features like; up to four GbE ports, up to seven USB (3.0 and 2.0), up to four serial ports (RS232/485), PS/2, and an external SATA and PCI-E interface. In addition, a second screen can be added on the DVI or DP port. The PANEL 21 can be expanded with standard options such as an UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), WLAN, and any fieldbus or can be customized to meet a specific application requirement.

The front of the PANEL 21 is IP65 protected and made of stainless steel with standard I/O interfaces located on the back of the unit. The PANEL 21 does not require a fan and is ideally suited as a man-machine interface in harsh environments.
